Nasya karma:
The nose is considered as one of the most effective pathways to an inner pharmacy. Medications that are given through nasal passage affect the mind directly.

Types of Nasya:
Virechana:
Highly effective to treat Kapha types of deasess such as headaches, heaviness in the head, cold, nasal congestion, sticky eyes and sticky Kapha. In this Nasya karma, dry powders of herbs are blown through the nasal passage.
Bruhana:
Suggested to cure Vata disorders such as headaches, migraine headache, and dryness of voice, dry nose, nervousness, anxiety, fear, dizziness and emptiness. Substances commonly used in this process are ghee, salt, Shatavari ghee, ashwagandha ghee, medicated milk, and various oils.
Shamana:
Effective in pitta-type disorders such as thinning of hair, conjunctivitis and ringing in the ears. In this process medicated decoctions, teas, the fresh juice of herbs, or medicated oils specific to the dosha are used.
Navana:
Highly effective for pitta-Kapha disorder this process is done by inserting fresh juices, oils and decoction through nostrils.
Marshya:
A few drops of ghee or oil are inserted into nostrils to relieve stress and open deep tissues.
